Lazydays Employees Celebrate Grand Opening of Children’s Shelter Home
April 8, 2009 – (Seffner, FL) – The Lazydays Partners Foundation, along with Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, recently celebrated the official opening of A Kid’s Place, a state-of-the-art center for abused, abandoned and neglected children. At this event, the Lazydays House, one of the facility’s first shelter homes to open its doors, was also commemorated.
After learning about the project, the Lazydays Partners Foundation pledged $400,000 to become a House sponsor. Over the last several years, Lazydays employees raised the pledge money primarily through payroll deductions. Today, the 3,200-s.f. home is nestled among four others on the facility’s five acre Brandon campus and will provide an immediate reprieve for children who have been removed from an abusive home.
“We have all eagerly anticipated this moment for the past two years,” said Dana Philp, an employee of Lazydays for 25 years. Philp, who also serves as President of Lazydays Partners Foundation continued, “Building the Lazydays House was not only close to the hearts of our employees but also our customers. It gives us all tremendous joy to be able to truly make a difference in the lives of our Bay area children.”
