The 2016 Allegro Bus is a Class A diesel RV that continues the legacy of cutting-edge luxury and comfort that Bob Tiffin defined more than 40 years ago when he introduced the original 1972 Allegro.
Americans have enjoyed road tripping and camping since the early 1900s in the initial versions of camper trailers. It wasn’t until the 1950s, however, that self-contained motorhomes in which a family could live a truly comfortable RV lifestyle became fashionable.
Fast-forward to 1972, when an upstart company called Tiffin Motorhomes debuts the Allegro. The original Allegro served as a proof-of-concept of the “mansion-on-wheels”: it showed America that living a mobile lifestyle didn’t mean sacrificing the amenities of a regular home.

One iteration of the Allegro, the Allegro Bus, offers six different floor plans, all of which take full advantage of powered slide out compartments for a roomy interior, when not traveling.
The exterior the Allegro Bus features lockable swing out storage compartments with sliding trays. Another compartment opens up to reveal an external HDTV for movie nights in the great outdoors. When you open the engine compartment you’ll find a standard Freightliner Cummins ISL engine, which provides the Allegro Bus with 450 horsepower and 1250 lbs. of torque.
As you tour the interior, you will find ultra-leather seats and a foldable sleeper sofa in the living area and driver’s cabin, with carpeting and Easy-Care tile floors. Above the driver’s seat you’ll find an optional HDTV mounted alongside more cabinet space, and another optional HDTV and gas fireplace in the living area. TVs include a Blu-ray system and satellite receiver. Window placement depends on the floor plan, but each window includes a powered shade that keeps out heat and acts as a privacy screen.
The kitchen area includes a full-size stainless steel refrigerator and microwave, and a large counter space with a two-burner induction stovetop and double-bowl sink that comes with covers for additional surface space, when not in use.
Moving toward the back you’ll find the bathroom with a full shower, toilet, and solid surface vanity top with sink. A closet opens to reveal a stacked washer and dryer unit, and in the bedroom you’ll find a large bed that comes complete with matching comforter and throw pillows. Another HDTV can be mounted in the bedroom alongside ample storage cabinets.
