This month we want to feature one of the latest motorhomes from Winnebago, and one of the hottest Class A diesel RVs on the market, the 2017 Winnebago Journey. The Journey series has been one of the most popular diesel Class A motorhomes each year, and the 2017 model offers leading-edge features as well as a new design.
EXTERIOR
The latest Winnebago Journey offers handsome full-body paint schemes on the revolutionary Freightliner Maxum chassis, which offers a smooth and comfortable driving experience and up to 229 cubic feet of storage. A diesel-powered engine provides plenty of power to transport everything you need on a long journey.
A wide range of innovative features are available for you to customize the functionality and style of the exterior, such as a 10k or 15k trailer hitch, powered entrance awning, patio awning with LED lighting, lockable lighted storage compartments with slide-out trays, an exterior refrigerator/freezer, and an external HDTV hidden in its own hatch. Features like a driver’s side docking/service light, auxiliary side lamps, full-width mudguard, rear mud flaps, and premier clear coat automotive finish ensure that your investment is protected against whatever elements you may be driving through.
INTERIOR
Choose between three floor plans for the interior. The Winnebago Journey 36M is ideal for hosting, with its “Glide & Dine” dining table and “Rest Easy” sofa and sofa/bed, which both fold into sleeping spaces.
The 40R features a full slide wall on the driver’s right side, which opens up a roomy central lounge area and creates a unique forward-galley design. The 40R also features a “Rest Easy” powered extendable sectional sofa, one-and-a-half baths, and a large HDTV that folds up to reveal another storage space. The 42E offers a similar layout to the 40R, but switches the location of the kitchen and couch for more distinct lounge and dining areas.
Standard to all floor plans are: a wide range of decor options, Ultraleather furniture (including a recliner with workstation), couch with hidden sleeper, massive HDTV, LED ceiling lights, and a cozy fireplace (standard in the 40R and 42E, optional in the 36M).
In the galley area, you’ll find a full-size freezer/refrigerator, cold-water filtration system, Corian countertops with sink covers, microwave/convection oven, 3-burner range, and large sink with plenty of pantry and storage space for all your kitchen supplies and foodstuffs.
Enjoy showers with a flexible showerhead, plenty of space to move around, and a bright skylight. For your bedroom, choose between a powered queen or king sized bed, and store your clothes in a roomy wardrobe that slides out for extra floor space. You can also enjoy movies and your favorite shows on a 32-inch HDTV, and add an optional fireplace for extra comfort.
