Below are some of the favorite places some Airstream campers and adventurers have suggested for you to venture onto the water for fun on the ocean and lakes.
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Arizona
Located in both Arizona and Utah, the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area offers the best picturesque areas of Lake Powell. The waters of Lake Powell are calm and clear, creating a large playground for those who like fishing and water sports. So, take out your water skis, kayaks, canoes and fishing poles for days of fun. For those who like to remain dry, there are many hiking and biking trails in the nearby mountainous country.
Corpus Christi, Texas
The gateway to the Gulf of Mexico has a great host city of Corpus Christi, TX. For many Airstream and RV travelers, if you are looking to go deep sea fishing, sail the area’s gorgeous bay waters or travel by boat between the city’s shopping districts, the waters around Corpus Christi offer another way to increase opportunities to relax. If you don’t want to tow your own boat with your luxury motorhome, there are plenty of places offering sailing, boating and fishing tours. If you want to venture on your own, kayaks and canoes are available to rent.
Castiac Lake, California
A great way to relax while sailing and boating may be visiting one of the state’s numerous lakes instead of going to California’s coastal waters. Castiac Lake, about five miles away from the town of Castiac, is 8,000 acres surrounded by plenty of campgrounds and water activities. Campers can enjoy boating, skiing, fishing and swimming in a relaxing atmosphere without driving all the way to the state’s coastline. There are convenient boat ramps which make boat rentals and an Airstream lifestyle or other RV or motorhome living more adventurous.
