Cheyenne, Wyoming
When we think of Cheyenne, we think of cowboys, rodeos and beautiful views, and you’ll find all that and more when you visit. While there is world-class mountain biking, climbing and plenty of RV camping throughout the year, we recommend visiting during Cheyenne Frontier Days, which takes place at the end of July and was named the top festival in the nation by Livability.com. This year, Cheyenne Frontier Days begins on July 21 and goes through July 30, with highlights including the World’s Largest Outdoor Rodeo, carnivals, parades, air shows, and concerts from artists like Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Jason Derulo. If you don’t make it for Frontier Days, you’ll still find plenty to do in Cheyenne, including plenty of historical tours and attractions, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the wintertime, fishing, and an array of biking and hiking trails.
Casper, Wyoming
If you love adventure, you’ll love Casper, Wyoming. Known as the mountain town for the wild at heart, visitors can enjoy exceptional hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, boating and more, all while taking in the breathtaking and unique Wyoming landscape. With Casper Mountain, the North Platte River and Fremont Canyon at your disposal, you won’t have any time to be bored—unless you want to be.
