This summer, take a break from the usual summer travel destinations and experience something different. All across the country, rodeos and rallies draw tens of thousands of people. From stampedes to motorcycle rallies, we've picked out a few of our favorite events to check out this summer:
Greeley Stampede
Greeley, Colorado
June 23-July 4
Pack up the family and head to the Greeley Stampede, where you’ll enjoy fun events like the PRCA Rodeo series, American Bullfighting, Demolition Derby, the Carnival Americana, the Independence Day Parade, the Kid’s Rodeo and Miss Rodeo America. Nighttime entertainment includes concerts from popular musicians like the Barenaked Ladies, Toby Keith and Clay Walker.
Prescott Frontier Days
Prescott, Arizona
June 28-July 4
Be part of history and check out the World’s Oldest Rodeo in its 130th year running. In addition to the main rodeo event, Frontier Days also offers a Rodeo Dance, Rodeo Parade, an Arts & Crafts Show, specialty food booths, live music and plenty of other entertainment for the whole family. At night, head back to the RV campgrounds for some rest and relaxation.
Cheyenne Frontier Days
Cheyenne, Wyoming
July 21-30
Cheyenne, Wyoming is only a two-hour drive from Denver, and it boasts plenty of culture and outdoor attractions for every type of RVer. During Frontier Days, you’ll have the chance to enjoy rides and entertainment at Carnival Americana, learn more about Native American culture at Indian Village, see the USAF Thunderbirds at the Thunderbird Air Show, sample food at the Chuckwagon Cookoff, watch champion bull riding, attend concerts from artists like Luke Brian, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town and Jason Derulo, and much more!
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
Sturgis, South Dakota
August 4-13
Put your cycle in the toy hauler and head to Sturgis for their annual motorcycle rally. Enjoy scenic views of the Black Hills during the Mayor’s Ride, run in the Legendary Sturgis 5K and tour iconic Sturgis bars at the Mayor’s Pub Crawl. You can even enter one of the many contests, like the Tuesday Tattoo Contest, the Street Food Throw Down, or the Beard & Moustache competition.
